Sex Party..?

What was the name of the political party that the magician David Hemmngs lead in Canada?

MarkB

I dont recall, but I remember which you refer (or depending on you party, reefer) to.
djm, wht part of canada u live?

You can have Lakes Erie and Ontario, half of Lakes Superior and Huron. We don’t want the state of Michigan “touching” anybody else. It’s bad enough we have to border three other states though Ohio did take Toronto off our hands.

Lake Michigan belongs to Michigan but we benevolently share it with Wisconson and a fragment of Indiana and Illinois.

Oh, go ahead and fill in Lake Champlain. Every once and awhile someone wants to classify it as a “great lake”. This will take the wind out their sails.

The Watch Us Disappear in a Puff of Smoke Party?

SW Ontario, land of stink and vapours.

Stink and vapor…

I believe you mean Michigan ceded Toledo and some of its surrounding area to Ohio in exchange for the UP as part of a deal brokered by President Jackson in 1835. I still can’t believe Michigan and Ohio nearly went to war with each other over Toledo. F—ing Toledo, man…It’s Detroit without the glitter

Oooo! I can’t believe you’re picking on such a great cultural centre as Toledo!

Dah! I answered my own question..silly me! It was the Natural Law Party, which also is in the United States.

Markb

Exactly. I would have ceded Detroit too.

Actually I like Ohio. Especially the south east part. Beautiful scenery around Marietta. My Mom’s family comes from Lima Ohio.

I know some people take the Michigan/Ohio rivalry serious. I do not. I will always laugh at a Michigan joke.

Djm - That was Cleveland I believe.

ah - us here in south western Ohio don’t recognize Cleveland OR Toledo as being a part of the state…

Missy

There’s a difference  Its all American to me.

djm

In the U.S., that’s the Grassroots Party. They keep coming back and lighting up.

If I remember correctly, British Columbia is different from Canada in at least one way: it is the only province that (in places) does not have January temperatures below freezing, due to the warm pacific ocean currents.

That’s why we call it Lotus Land. Actually, its only the southern coastal areas that have the mild winters. Further north its cold and rainy all winter, while in the mountains, of course, they get snow up to, and usually wayover, their kiesters.

djm

The rest of Canada thought it was a great laugh when Vancouver was awarded the 2010 Winter Olympics. It’s like awarding the Winter Olympics to Galway.

As I understand it, some parts of Canada don’t even have temperatures above freezing in June (but of course few or no people actually live there).

A good portion of the polar ice cap is Canadian territory.

Sadly Cranberry that is no longer the truth. In the last few years in the Arctic, they have melting of the permafrost, birds they have never seen before (Robins for example), thunderstorms and temperatures over 15 degrees celcius. Global warming is affecting the Arctic like never before.

MarkB

That is very sad, indeed. :sniffle:

I’ve been told that in the next century or two, some island nations may slowly dissapear under the ocean. It seems bizarre to think about–whole nations (and states, such as much of Hawaii) vanishing off the map.
