Searching Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh CD

Update:
I’ve been in touch with Steve O’Shannaquay-Power, and he tells me that the Morning Star CD is a project that Muireann did as part of her MA course in the University of Limerick. She put some copies on sale in Dingle, but never really had enough for wider distribution.

Two courses of action seem possible from here: contact Steve, who hopes that she might make a few of the remaining copies available for sale through his shop; or start a write-in campaign (via the Danú site?) to convince her that it is worth her while to get another run of a thousand or more copies produced on the basis that her prominence as a member of Danú will make this a serious commercial proposition. Or both. Or of course someone might suggest that she asks Green Linnet to take her on as a client  .

I just got an e-mail from Muireann (copied below), which is not good news for those wanting to buy her CD. However, I hear that there are some copies still available in the Muisc shop near ‘Dick Mac’s’ pub, at the top of the hill, opposite the church, in Dingle (Co. Kerry).

By the way, that ‘Rumsfeldian known unknown’ stuff that Roger refers to, is actually a model of psychology called ‘The Johari Window’. It was devised by 2 American psychologists (probably over 30 years ago) whose surnames escape me but their first names were Joe and Harry - hence Johari. It is a model of self awareness combined with Freudian theories of the ‘unconscience’ (trust me, I’m a doctor). Mr Rumsfeld was quoting it almost verbatim, but not in any way that gave me confidence he knew what he was saying!

Best wishes,

Steve Power

Hello Steve,

Thanks for the email. Sorry to say that the Morning Star is all gone and I’m not planning a reprint anytime soon. However I do hope to work on a new solo album shortly.
Regards,
Muireann
