Just an FYI in case this individual contacts you in response to items you might have for sale. I have an EnChanter whistle listed here, as well as on Bagpipe Central. Yesterday, a person supposedly named Thomas Kennedy, with an email address of kennedythomas016@gmail.com, contacted me about the listing on BC. The price I’m asking for the whistle is $50, and he offered to pay with a check, which is okay, so I told him I wouldn’t send it to him until the check cleared. He then emailed me to say:
“The check is for $950.54, which includes the movers’ fees. Once the check clears, please deduct your portion and send the remaining amount to the movers. This is because I’m moving soon, and the movers need to purchase some household items on my behalf with the remaining amount. That’s why the check is for a larger amount. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
I knew right away that it was a scam, so I wanted folks to be aware of him.
