Save my whistle...it's saved!

At the time when I purchased my O’Brien whistle I didn’t stop and remember that I am allergic to nickle. (I can’t wear anything with nickle in it.) So of course after playing my whistle for awhile my mouth started itching and lips swelling and my fingers started turning red. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can safely coat my whistle with. Clear fingernail polish is out as I can’t handle it either. This isn’t a medical question, I just want to be able to play this awsome whistle.
Thanks,
Raven

Wow, that sucks. Maybe Mr. OBrien would be willing to trade you for
a non-plated copper model? I don’t know anything about metallergy,
but I wonder if it could be plated with a metal that is less harmful to
you, like silver or aluminum?

My wife’s allergic to nickel, too. So her wedding ring had to be
platinum. Oy.

Are you allergic to regular superglue? Most people are not, and that can be used.

As much as my husband would sometimes appreciate it, I have never put super glue on my mouth so I can’t say if I am allergic or not.

I have a serpent copper whistle and have never had any reaction to it. How would I go about finding someone to plate it in sliver or aluminum?

I have sent a PM that offers three possible solutions to Raven’s problem. I hope people will contact me directly with this type of thing and take advantage of my guarantee.

Mr. O’Brien has offered to fix the problem. What a guy! Nice person with great whistles This is definately a rare combination.!!!

Great to hear that this was worked out. True class.

I have 2 whistles that mea maxima culpa are in need of repair. I notified the craftsman and he will take care of it at no charge.

These people are the salt of the earth.
