Yes. The Chinese decided that, too. 
I think there is still that core group of people who would like to know ahead of time so that they could see the crash live.
Fact: This will create a new ice age. Orbital Litter: a whole new meaning to “getting trashed.” Space faring aliens will pass right by Earth ‘cause they’ll think it is just somebodys’ landfill. We need a big sign out by the moon saying “Inhabited Planet Ahead. No Dumping”
This reminds me of the old story about the early days of the automobile, when there were only two cars in all of Kansas, and they still managed to find each other and crashed head-on.
