Currently offered for adoption is my William Pond (Circa ~1870) single key flute made of Cocus and German-Silver.

This is a late model flute, William Pond being the son of Sylvanus Pond who was in the famous partnership of Firth, Hall & Pond. This flute is an original upon which McGee’s GLP (Gary Larson Preferred) model was based and plays justly so! Having a relatively strong voice that is very easily obtainable and delivering crisp ornamentations. This flute just sings so easy, demanding very little from the player.
This flute hasn’t a single crack in the body, but I did mend the cap (had cracked, presumably due to a fall). The flute is in very good condition, with few scratches and dings (none worth mentioning).
The intonation is very good and the flute plays very well at modern pitch (440 to 442 Hz) with the top tennon fully closed. The only notable anomaly is the Cnat is sharp when played OXX OOO, so I usually finger it OXX XOO for fast passages and OXO XXX for longer notes.
I’m offering this flute with a period case (but not original to this flute). The flute fits fairly well (though not a custom snug fit) and the case has two ornate brass latches that securely bind the case. The unique lid with an ornate name plate atop, is very attractive (though it does remind me a bit of a casket).
