Similar to the one on Rick Wilson’s website (end of the page):
http://www.oldflutes.com/english.htm

and not the 1st Rudall they’ve sold: http://www.ebay.com/itm/150629831949

Oh. Covet. More than I do uillman’s Olwell. Uuuuuurgh!

This is a flute that would benefit by having a Patent head…

clearly someone selling their flutes.
She was the lady who sold that highly ornate Rudall that garnered $10,000.

economy hitting home perhaps?

“economy hitting home perhaps?” David.

No, she’s finally got her keyless Olwell Pratten and doesn’t need all that old timber - less is more

hmmm. Now THAT’s an endorsement of Patrick’s work!
but glad to hear it’s a good reason for selling and not the economy.

i have my own Olwell that appeared after a long wait…yet I still have my enamored sense toward my Rudalls. I wonder if I’d part with them? Sigh.

Oh my. £2.5k. VERY hard to believe. Pinching myself. HARD.

BTW, David, I don’t think Steampacket knows anything the rest of us don’t about this/the vendor…

Not your late bid, then, Jem?

Speaking of which, #859, this one with the ornate keywork, is back on ebay too:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RUDALL-ROSE-WOODEN-FLUTE-8-KEY-ORNATE-SILVER-WORK-/150694376905

It sold last May 18th for 6433 pounds, over $10,500. at the time. Perhaps the buyer didn’t come through?

It’s the buyer who’s selling (see discussion here)!

Oops, sorry, I tried to delete my post since this is covered elsewhere, but the reply came too quickly. See https://forums.chiffandfipple.com/t/oh-my-ornate-rudall-rose/79089/1 Sorry!

OK, I 'fess up. (Now it’s actually in my hands). My covetousness got the better of me, with a bit of (interest) added impetus from a generously supportive friend! It’s mine now, probably an exceptional opportunity that wasn’t to be sniffed at (especially at the actual price!!! - I’m still in shock…), and I don’t regret it at all! It needs some TLC to be its best and do all it should be capable of, but it’s rather glorious even as-is. Short video clip here, as received photos to follow.

Wow :open_mouth: , very very very nice catch!
