Hey; I’ve been playing whistle for a few years and have always loved traditional Irish music. I’ve also always wanted to play button accordion, so I was recommended to Lark In the Morning for a good starters box. I got a Hualian box (I hadn’t known it was a Chinese box…I’d been warned before). It gave be plenty of good practice and it’s time I upgrade…this box has just hit it’s wall of what it can do and what I can do on it…single note triplets are impossible on some notes.
I come from a musical family and the best investments we make are musical instruments; we are always happy to spend the money on a new instrument…but my twin brother and I have just graduated highschool and are attending college many states away. This will be a fortune, meaning a $1500 new Paolo Soprani is not going to happen, even if I had the money of my own. I’ve been searching everywhere for a used box of good quality to give me years of enjoyable playing, so this is what I am asking:
Post a reply or email me at bigteapot@optonline.net if you: A. know of any good places for me to look for used/affordable B/C dry tuned Irish boxes, B. have any affordable well working boxes, C. have any information or advice what so ever as to upgrading to a new affordable box. Thanks for your time,
-Sean
PS: if you see a kid wandering flea markets in new jersey looking in every instrument case, thats me…old instruments fascinate me and secretly I’m hoping I stumble on an old B/C box.
