I have updated my website and would like to invite you to see photos of

Ooooh, nice. I like the lined keyways, and the boxwood is lovely.

BTW, WFO2 CD went out to you last week. Yours is the one with the Acanthus leaf motif keys on the lower left of the cover, and the 2nd from the bottom in the interior. When I have time, maybe I’ll do an outline map of the cover and ID all the flutes. I would have liked to include a shot of the inlaid amber blowedge headjoints, but there just wasn’t enough flute in the photos available at the time in regard to good resolution and composition. Difficult to make it show up.

Drool! I love the amethyst crown on the boxwood.

Very beautiful, as always, especially the Boehm flute headjoints!

Oh, nooooooo! Did you have to tell me about that, Glauber? :astonished:

 The “semi-thinned” one, with the ivory insert.

While Peter is best known for his presentation quality work, I think his keyless Irish flutes are an overlooked bargain. I’m particularly fond of the inset blowing edge. His design is quite competative with the other contemporary makers. It has no equal (at least I’ve never found anything close) in what I can only call agility…quickness of response. Acousticaly why this is so, I have yet to find a clue.

I love Peter’s work. I have a boxwood Boehm headjoint with amber blowing edge and endcap and a keyless blackwood contemporary design flute. My boxwood 9-key (extra Bb touch key) flute is next on his list!!!

Jessie - I have the double action Bb on my R&R, but by now I learned to use the left thumb good enough, and right hand touch gets a bit in the way of the Cnat.
I’ve been rolling the right hand joint out, just so the Bb is out of the way, but…is you flute going to be one piece?
At times I want to just take the extra Bb touch out.
Have you played or do you have a flute with the extra Bb touch?

Peter made me an extra head for the R&R, one with the insert, and his modern cut embouchure, only a bit smaller 11.6x10.4, I really love his work.

Wow… may I say that I’m yearning for one with amber blow edges and an amber cabouchon?? What beautiful work!!

Best,
~A

Hmm. No, I have not played one…it just seemed like a good idea. Hmm. Maybe I should cancel it. I will have other flutes with that, so maybe it would be good to have one or two (the Casey Burns curly boxwood, to name one) without it. Not sure. I don’t know how many pieces the body will be in. I can always modify the keys to be short enough so I won’t hit them by accident. It pays to be a silversmith. But you do have an interesting point. Hmm. Not sure. I don’t really like the Bb thumb key…it’s a bit awkward for me. Ok, how’s that for a ramble?!?

Jessie, on my R&R, and I’m sure it would be the same on Peters flute, you can take the second touch out, and the thumb key work fine, but could be that Peter uses a stiffer spring because of the double action?
I just Know that I like using the Cnat (like you), and now, the other touch is a bit in the way, and I’m having to change my right hand grip to keep my finger away from the touch.

Hmm. Thank you for the information.
