I was reading this thread ( http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?t=22988&start=15 ), in which are mentioned whistles below low D. I was thinking about trying to possibly play a lower than D whistle, but I can’t afford much of anything. Does anybody know if anybody makes a cane low C, Bb, or A? I have a cane low F and D from www.mid-east.com, and I really like them.
I can barely play the Susato low D, but I know that Susatos are weird like that.
I think I saw on the Jubilee site that Daniel has really low whistles. They are higher priced than the practice whistles though. Maybe he could make a practice whistle version for you in the low low range.-?? -mike

makes very low bass flutes in bamboo. He does make whistles too, occasionally, but i don’t know if he makes low whistles. You may want to ask him.
I have a couple of very low bamboo flutes in G and A. They make a lovely sound but the holes are too far apart to actually “play” anything.
However, it doesn’t take much to get the note to actually sound; the trouble is all in covering the holes cleanly.
I have largish hands, but maybe someone with huge hands (or superlong fingers) would do better.
How about a low low F (sub-contrabass) by Paetzold.
You can find them on Susatos website, but they cost as much as a set of UP 
Would stick out at any session though
