photographs

All these photographs I took today.

This one’s my favorite. It made me think of mortality for some reason…

This one is a LOLcat in the making!

“Bow, my people”

Some hazardous photography there Jack! All those bees and yellow jackets! shudder Beautiful pictures though. I’m glad you’re not afraid of macabre subject matter. Decay and consumption are critical elements of life. I think those pics would be nice in B&W or maybe Sepia tone, add a little spookiness and nostalgia.

I like the progression of the leaf photos…was it fun tearing them up?

Your signature line is appropriate for this one, Miscanthus can slice and dice you in a second

It’s funny you should say that re: the cat…it* belongs to the president of my university.

*It’s name is Taffy. I can’t tell if it’s male or female. It has so much fur you can’t tell if it has boy parts, girl parts, or other parts.

And here’s one of me from the same day, which a friend took (we go out and take pictures together):

I generally don’t like pictures of myself (who does?) but I like that one.

P.S. The leaf exploded all by itself.

I can’t tell if it’s male or female. It has so much fur you can’t tell if it has boy parts, girl parts, or other parts.

Pretty cheeky- but not quite Tom cat cheeky- so I’m guessing neutered male.

You look like you fell straight out of Monty Python’s Life of Brian.

I’ve never watched that though I’ve heard of it (it’s a movie, right?). Is that a good thing or bad thing? :stuck_out_tongue:

That looks like a male face to me. Looking at him proves the fact that cats of all sizes are much more genetically similar than dogs. A cat is a cat is a cat with only minor variations. What we are looking at is a mini lion. And if he was the size of a lion, he’d probably tear you to shreds just for fun.

He looks like a very self-confident chap. I’m not so sure he is neutered. A bit too much attitude for that and neutered males tend to be over weight. A male cat’s life is about food and sex. Remove the sex, and… He looks just right to me. Nice and healthy, but not overweight

Well, male of female, neutered or not, that is one magnificent cat. Great shot!

PS. The name Taffy sort of indicates it’s a male too.

Owen

I’ve only known one person named Taffy and she was female, so that’s why I didn’t know.

Considering your recent move to distance yourself from christianity I think you should watch it. You’d probably laugh at it a lot more now than you may have done in the past.

Fweee Wodewick!

What’s with the entity looking at you from up in that tree to the right?

I don’t know why, but the sequence with the leaf being torn up annoys me a bit.

It’s only a leaf and I have no hippy feelings about trees or anything but my first reaction when I saw the 2nd leaf picture was anger. Perhaps I’m annoyed because it was such a bright colour it seems a waste to destroy it (though I’m sure there are plenty more on the tree).

Odd you should mention that. I had the same reaction to the leaf shredding sequence. When I got to the end, I, ah, found myself wanting to stomp those toes.

No reason for it, I suppose. That was what I felt.

I still want to know what the black thing is in the tree. What watches you, Jack?

Better without the redeye? (courtesy of Picasa) - just say the word and I’ll delete it!

Hmm…I was going to agree with neutered male, but Taffy sounds feminine.

Taffy is not especially feminine. Loads of Welsh blokes get called that whether they like it or not. It was our nickname at school for one of our teachers. He was not an effeminate man, I can assure you, as any of my friends rugby-tackled by him would confirm!

Sorry Jack. I was doing some work in Photoshop and I couldn’t resist.

Mukade

I LOVE AYN RAND! But Ayn Rand hated trees and the sky because they weren’t man-made, so I doubt she’d be there in the trees. :stuck_out_tongue:
