PaulyWally Whistleworks :)

My newer Snapfish pics won’t work with [img] for some reason. :really:

The motor for my lathe finally arrived! Here it is all crated up:

I can’t wait to get this baby fired up!

It was too heavy for an engine hoist so we jury-rigged it onto a car lift instead:

Yeah, that’s a transmission attatched to it. What good is a whistle-making lathe without at least 5 speeds? I hope 450 horsepower is enough.

Remember that if you use it with bamboo and a razor, you should wear Kevlar gloves.

I’ve got a full suit of maille and plate armor for protection.

My lathe is bigger than your lathe…

Coming soon: the Busman Super Ultra Mega Low D !!

:astonished: Just think of the pipers grip that one will need to play that bad boy!

I haven’t made a prototype yet, but I’m thinking it will take 3 people to cover the holes: each person holding two garbage can covers to handle two holes apiece. For the hard blowing that will be required, I’m suggesting a politician…

Thus far, the biggest problem I’m having is getting government permission to cut down a Giant Redwood to find a piece of wood large enough for this project.

Well, Paul, It looks like you’ll have to carry on with this project. I’m actually glad that someone else is going to fill the really ridiculous super huge whistle niche because they just stuck my motor and transmission in a customer’s '94 Dodge Viper. He’s pretty happy because it took almost 5 months to get the thing and that car is his daily driver.

If I come across any redwoods I’ll let ya know.

Check out the underground whistleworks in this thread!!!
