Hi there,

I am new to this forum. I have been an uilleann piper here in Canada for about 30 years and play a Seth Gallagher 3/4 set. I was looking for something different in a D chanter and had some good conversations in the spring wih Patrick O’Hare after I contacted him initially on his website. We had many emails about wood seletcion, number of keys, reedmaking etc.. and felt good about his responses, I went ahead and ordered a chanter with 2 keys from him - he said he didn’t need a depost. He sent me some nice photos and a video of him playing my chanter at the end of May. He said it was ready to ship with a couple of spare reeds in June and I paid him in July. Had a couple of emails from him after that in August asaying that he had a death in the family but would ship it next day. Complete radio silence since then after sending him a couple of emails.

I am looking for advice and wondering if anyone in the group knows him, and/or may have a way of contacting him in Belfast other than email? I noticed that he hasn’t posted much recently on Facebook so wondering what might be going on. The delay in getting my chanter doesn’t concern me as much as the gap in communication.

Thank you - I did a forum search but didn’t find any additional contact info for him. I also noticed a lack of recent posts on his facebook page.
After emailing the McPeake band website to see if they had a number for him, I received a reply and someone was going to try and get info for me.
I also emailed the Beflfast pipers club but no response yet.

I just heard from Patrick and am in the process of resolving this. Will send an update again soon.
