Ornamentation

Can anyone remind me of the name of a rather large book on ornamentation in Irish music? I believe the author tries to cover most instruments, and makes a point of calling ornaments ‘articulations’. If I remember right, the book is over 100 pages, maybe over 200.

You’re better off getting something aimed specifically at the pipes, a book on flutes and whistles won’t get you what you need.

What Mr. G said. Plus, get to a Tionol. Some of the piper’s toolkit is best taught face-to-face. “Barking” and ‘popping’ f’rinstance. Plus at the Tionols you’ll see the full range displayed, both tastefully and not.
