Ok, I know this will be a stupid question, but I have to ask.
Along about June when I get back from an Army Assignment I would like to buy an O’Riordan D/C set.
Unrealistic maybe, but you never know, so anyone interested pm me.
Thanks

There was some postings a while back that Pat O’Riordan has closed is order books on accepting new customers. I can’t be sure but you can do a search on the Chiff board for O’Riordan.
If not, contact him directly at:
O’Riordan Music Workshop. 7516 Avalon Drive. Ft. Wayne, IN 46819. Phone (219) 747-2557.
A great whistle set, I have had my set for eight years or so.
And I hope that you have a safe return from your assignment.

I’m sure Mark’s right about the list being closed. But if you want a whistle set soon it wouldn’t be much help if it were open. The wait is about 5 years I think—it certainly isn’t a matter of months.
I don’t think you’d have all that much trouble tracking down a C/D combo. It’s finding one at a price you’d be willing to pay that is unlikely.
The wait when I got my D/C set just over a year back now was three years and two months. I’ve talked with Pat several times since them as well and as of about six months ago his books were indeed closed.
The cost of a concert D/C set (wooden) which is what I got was something around $180-$250 depending on if you opted for one or two mouthpieces for the two bodies.
Pat would be the best one to tell you what his wait is like and what his prices are. It’s true for enough money you could probably talk someone out of their set but it might be a LOT of money. I like mine enough I wouldn’t sell them now even if offered many times what I paid. They are great!
