This item up for auction is a set of Patrick O’Riordan wood whistles. They were made in 2001 and are being donated by their original owner. Both foot tubes use the same synthetic and nickle-silver head joint. The foot tube in the key of C is made of Tulip wood and has a particularly beautiful and mellow timbre suited well for any music making. The foot tube in the key of D is made of African blackwood and has plenty of voulume for sessions. Both foot tubes are well in tune. The rings and slides are made of nickle-silver. A few minor scratches on the slides and rings were present on the original delivery from Mr. O’Riordan. This is a thick walled whistle which some say can be cross fingered in variously ways to become fully chromatic. Pat includes a fingering chart that shows the various fingerings to use the whistle a fully chromatic instrument. Pat O’Riordan’s waiting list was around three years prior to being closed (no new names are being added to the list at this time). If you are interested in having a set of O’Riordan whistles, this is a rare opportunity to get them.
The fittings are not actually nickel silver. They are nickel-plated brass.

Bump.
Ask any questions about the set to me via PM by tomorrow. I’ll be out of computer range from saturday morning through after the auction. I could do a quick phone concert of my sub par playing if you want to hear the whistles tomorrow night (after 9 pm eastern daylight), send your phone #. First few only. I don’t want to be here all night; I gotta drive Jersey in the morning! If it wasn’t for Jerry, forget about it.

P.S. Thanks for the clarification, Jessie, I knen not what shiny metal was in my (soon to be someone else’s) whistle.
Remember this is for a good cause.
