Olive oil

Do you eat olive oil or drink it, when it’s used in a recipe.

I had to read that about three times before I comprehended.

When you make soufflé, do you eat the air or breathe it?

You must swallow it?

Personally, I think she was only interested in Jeep.

I’s like my olive oyl with spinach and garlic, Eugene was very weird, but we share similar noses.

Who needs a recipe to drink EVOO?

I take a shot every morning. TONIC!

I’m also 65 years old, and do 100 push-ups a day.

Coincidence?

Dunno.

Huh?

I guess I consume it.

I purchased a bottle of locally-pressed olive oil when I visited San Diego recently. Since I purchased it in a tourist shop in Old Town, we probably paid three prices for it. Next day, as we packed for our return flight, I was not wide awake, and I packed the bottle of olive oil in my carry-on bag, ostensibly so that it wouldn’t get broken. Well, it didn’t get broken. I’m sad to say that it never made it past the security insepection at the airport. The agents examined the bottle carefully, asked me a lot of questions, and then threw the bottle into the trash bin.

Depends on the recipe. If it’s a recipe for a cocktail, then you drink it. If it’s a recipe for food, then you eat it.

Unless it’s soup, when you can do both at once.

:boggle:

What cocktail would that be then

Anti-venom, He who must not be named.

Olive oil, shmolive oil. If you have a slice of whisk(e)y cake, are you eating the whisk(e)y or drinking it?

Yeah. I thought so.

I’m not sure I have a grip on this yet, but I’m compelled to ask why you wanted to know, Pammy.

wasn’t she just being quixotic?

I drink my olive oil straight from the bottle, but I also eat it in what my wife decides to fry on the stove top. Olive oil, or not, wasn’t them Colts great?

Yes, but why?

Doug gets my vote for manliness . . . anyone who’d drink the stuff straight from the bottle . . .

I didn’t watch either game but I like the idea that the Saints beat the antichrist and his horned minions. I do all my sautéing in grape seed oil and than add olive oil for taste at the end. Olive oil has a low smoke point and the flavor is better if the oil isn’t overly heated.

I was just talking about it with my husband and we couldn’t decide, so I thought I would ask yous guys (and gals of course )
It’s just one of those odd things that crop up every now and again like Emms souffle question and Nanos whiskey question (that’s assuming that you put whiskey in whiskey cake and not just flavouring.
IBs question is a bit different because do you actually eat or drink soup? That’s a good question too  I expect that depends on how thick the soup is.

Perhaps I should have put up a poll:)
