Sam,
that is one cool looking whistle! It’s got a no nonsense look about it. It looks pretty rugged, I’d guess you could knock someone on the head at a session if they got out of line. I’d guess it sounds pretty good to…are you going to bid on this mystery whistle? If you do get it let us know how it sounds!(and if it got dented at all when you whacked someone on the head)

I think I might have seen and played one of these before (or something that looks very similiar). The thing I played was not a good quality instrument. The material it is made of is paper thin and extremely light (the lightest whistle I have ever played actually).

The tone is weak, and the notes above 2nd octave G are bad. I don’t know if its the same one, but the whistle I played was also of the same colour, same mouthpiece shape and had a stamped logo similiar to that one. I seriously doubt it is an antique, although I admit it looks pretty good in the photo.
