My name is Mack.
It’s not short for anything.
It’s not a nick name.
My Dad gave me the name.
I engrave it on Hoover whistles.
I have done so over 1000 times now.
That’s not boasting, just a fact.
I also write poems.
Here’s one such:
Here’s what I’ve found about whistles
After making a thousand or so-
The more that I know about whistles,
The more I find I don’t know.
I do know it’ll take a few thousand more
Before I can claim a perfect score.
I know it is out there-the perfect whistle will be
Made by some whistlemaker…
I just hope it is me!
I make whistles and write poetry for fun.
It is especially fun to have them liked and appreciated,
but there’s something more that keeps me making whistles.
Some folks actually pay me for doing what I like so much,
thus this commercial.
Oh, and there are some new things on my web site!
Mack
So many beautiful whistles to buy, so little space to store them!
I’m anxiously waiting for a quiet whitecap for my Generations D. That, by the way, used to be the worst whistle ever made. The legend is that the
visited the Generations plant one day… That thing almost ended my whistling career before it began, more than 10 years ago.
Anyway, i feel good about this. I’m not increasing the number of whistles, but potentially giving new life to an unplayable whistle.
Next, getting my Shaw D and Sweetone C Jerrified… I’m going to end up having too many good whistles!

P.S.: after i removed the Gen’s head (off with her head!), i put the head that came with my O’Brien’s Eb (which is a Generations tube with a severely tweaked Feadog head), and it sounded very good. I’m beginning to understand why people like Generations. There’s a special kind of chiff to it that the expensive whistles just don’t have.
I just got my whitecap, and what a beautiful thing it is. I’m very impressed with the quality of the construction. It’s plastic, but built around a core of yellow metal, and fits snugly on the Generations tube.
More feedback in a couple of weeks, after i’ve learned to play this to its best. It feels different from the other whistles i have. The sound is very pure. The 2 octaves are well balanced, and every note speaks easily.
This is an incredible value. Thanks Mack!
