I just got an Oak D (scratched the WhOA itch while on a business trip) and I swear the tube is identical to my Feadog Pro. The mouthpiece is a bit different in having a bump on the blade. An earlier thread described the Feadog Mk II as having a bump; I found the thread but does anyone know where the picture showing the Mk I, II and III heads went? Does Feadog make Oaks or vice versa?
I realize this terrain has probably been covered before but we haven’t had a “whistle heritage” thread in a while, so…
The conclusion seems to be that Feadog makes the tubes for the Oak D (according to the manufacturer), but the fipples are very different. And that the Feadog C and Oak C have identical fipples. Also, the current version of the Acorn is made by Oak, same fipple but on a brass tube rather than the thicker nickel-plated tube.
