NY Fleadh Cheoil this weekend

The Mid Atlantic Region of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann will hold their annual Fleadh Cheoil over two days - Saturday, June 3, 2006 and Sunday, June 4, 2006 in Pearl River, NY. This is one of two qualifying fleadhanna cheoil in North America, the winners of which are entitled to compete at Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann, the All-Ireland Fleadh, to be held in Letterkenny, County Donegal - 25 to 27 August 2006.

While advance registration has closed, walk-in competitors are welcome – just stop in the fleadh office at least 30 minutes in advance of your competition to enter. Spectators are also welcome, so come on out to hear some great music.

In addition to the competitions we have a ceili on Saturday night with music by the Ceol na gCroi Céilí Band, featuring James Keane, to get the dancers moving. At the same time in the fleadh hotel we have organized an open session to be led by Willie Kelly on fiddle and Mike Rafferty on flute.

Visit our webpage at www.nyfleadh.com for more details, driving directions, mass transit info, etc.

I hope all of you who are in the area this weekend will come to Pearl River to the fleadh.

All the best,

Tom
