Newbie question...

This is one of those questions that would be really dumb if there was such a thing as a dumb question. So, in the spirit that the only dumb question is one that remains unasked, here goes: what does “pure drop” mean? It seems to pop up regularly on this and other whistle sites. Thanks.

Old fasioned, without any kind of microphones and electronic equipment, the way music was played 200 years ago, acoustic…I think.

In fact, I probably am.

I thought it was the style in which the music used to be played,more straight forward,without much ornamentation.

But then again I could also be wrong!
