New Years resolutions

-I promise to not over-ornament a tune with taps, rolls and crans

-I promise to learn that tune which right now is slightly out of reach,

-I promise not to use “whilst” in a reply even tho the original msg used it in the C&F forum,

-I will subscribe to the notion that it “taint the whistle, it’s the person playing it”,

-I will learn a Strathspey, or even be content knowing what it is,

-I will think outside the “Celtic music only” box,

-I will be satisfied with my playing.

About 35 years ago I resolved to quit smoking. I did and haven’t smoked a cigarette since. I decided to quit making resolutions while I was ahead.

I resolve to journal more, pray more, and complain less. Also to work on playing my low D and finally be able to cover all the holes. sigh Also to get off the PC and onto the pipes. The last two I’m not worried about; it’s the first three that will be a challenge!

I used to resolve to give up cussing, but it’s so *&^%ing hard! :wink:

My resolutions this year are fairly mundane…to be better about balancing my checkbook and managing my time (the handheld I got for Christmas is supposed to be an aid in that direction).

  • spend less time on the internet
  • practice more
  • do some sports (that’s the hardest part)
  • don’t think about age
