New (to me) Basel Piccolo

I’ve just posted a few photos of a piccolo I purchased off of eBay this week on my piccolo blog.
It’s a Oesch Basel piccolo wooden head plastic body. Anyone have any experience with these?

I don’t have it in my hands yet.

No direct playing experience, but Oesch is the predominant instrument maker when it comes to the Basel piccolo; many\ most of the cliquen play Oesch piccolos, they are serious players instruments not tourist reproductions, and the Oesch shop is renowned as the place to get your piccolo serviced, tuned, or traded in for a better one. I planned to visit the shop when we went to Fasnacht this year, but like most Basel shops … It was shut for Fasnacht!

I’ll be interested to hear what you think of this one - I’m very sorely tempted to get a Peter Worrell some time soon.

Hello Steve,

A Worrell piccolo is high on my covet list as well.
I figured I couldn’t go wrong for 45 quid for the Oesch.

The same seller has another piccolo up now but metal headed and not an Oesch.

I love my Murray pic, but I do miss the keys sometimes.

The nice thing about piccolos is they rarely fetch high prices.

Though one anonymous one recently sky rocketed.
I’ll see if I can find the pics I saved.

I remember thinking yours sounded good Lorenzo part of the reason I went for it.
Any more comments negative or positive.

From what so can gather some Basel pics are biased for the low octave
And some for the high
