New tea :)

I’ve ordered it. I’ll let ya’ll know if it’s any good*.

(Your opinion may differ.)

Tastes a bit like dirt IMHO…not a tea I like at all, but let me know what you think. :smiley:

Eric

Did you rinse the tea first?

Yep - many tea sites note it’s “earthy” taste, so I’m not alone on this one - although some folks really like it.

Eric

I do like the thought of being able to do two or three brewings off of only one set of leaves. Full report soon.

Ya know how some tea drinkers will go into what sounds line wine-speak when describing a tea? I’ve never been able to do that. Not even with wines. That said, here’s my impressions of this tea;
It doesn’t taste dirty per se, but it has a, how should I put this, earthy aspect. Brews up as thick and as dark as coffee. Doesn’t taste like coffee though. In fact it doesn’t taste quite like any tea I’ve ever had either.
Not bad, but very different. I don’t quite know how to describe it. Almost no bitterness, so I’m going to assume that means a low tannic acid content.

I’ll have to give it another try sometime…you never know if it was just a bad batch of leaves or what.

Do you think you’ll eventually like it, or does it go on the list of “different” teas you’re glad you tried?

Eric

I like it well enough, though perhaps not as much as some others, say maybe oolong or ceylon.

If anyone’s near northern Louisiana and would like to drop by for a cup lemme know. I’ve a 4oz tin of the stuff.
