Our host (Dreamhost) has announced they’re experiencing system-wide connectivity issues, including SQL. Connection to the Chiffboard may be erratic as they work to resolve the problem. Thanks.
The problem is/was apparently a large scale password attack against Dreamhost’s WordPress sites (not us), creating in effect a DDOS against the entire server network (including us).
Chiffboard glitches should continue to ease up today as Dreamhost completes the necessary fixes.
Dreamhost reports that they’ve been hit with a second mass WordPress attack attempting to bypass the blocks they put in place yesterday. Luckily, the Chiffboard seems mostly unaffected today.
Dreamhost continues to report connection problems today, apparently unrelated to the WordPress attacks. Expect intermittent drop-outs until they work things out. Thanks!
