NEW BOARD POLICY: Moderated Discussion

Oh poor jGilder. He’s been reduced to Morris dancing and drinking  .
I hope he manages to survive!

Just kidding you a bit, Jack!

Allow me to suggest that the eye-roll emoticon be a perquisite of 7K club membership. Surely we are capable of restraint and maturity in our posts.

…Oh, never mind.

Damn dude, I just looked at your post count: Having to work for a living has really put me behind, it’s gonna be years before I get the eye roll emoticon back :waah: :waah: :waah:

Maybe Dale would make a special dispensation on the basis of chronologic seniority, instead of chronic prolixity. You’d qualify. I probably wouldn’t.

I don’t know if this is the technical issue here, but I’m noticing more and more that when you try to post images here with a link to somebody else’s website, this happens: No image. I wonder if that’s a way other sites are responding to “bandwidth theft.”

Should show up, it’s from a site specifically offering images to direct link to forums.

You’ve done it now Walden: Banned for life for unapproved use of the eye roll emoticon.

When I play my whistle, My left hand takes the upper and my right the lower. My right hand is dominant, and as a reult of playing guitar for 40 years the right has taken ownership of rhythm while my left has been happy to deliver accuracy at the right’s command. This gives me some difficulty when doing left hand rolls, also in handing-off into the 2nd octave the right is not accustomed to recieving the hand-off command from the left. They will eventually come to peace with practice.

If I have both hands on the whistle the music will flow. If my hands argue about their rolls the whistle will break in two.

Once having broken my whistle, if I then engage in an arm-wrestle with myself I can neither win nor lose, but will bacome a perfect target for less-than-nice-folks to come and clean my pockets of every thing I have while I am so self-constrained - including the half-whistles.

Being the moderator of a discussion board is an onerous task. If what you do does not work then the board becomes a ghost town very quickly. When an issue arises that causes threads to jump into double-digits overnight then the moderator is charged with a duty to “moderate” if needed.

Having lived with a moderator for 5 years, I know how seriously this task is taken and the, sometimes, weeks of soul-searching required to chose the right policy. This responsibility leads to a brand of wisdom that I will never posess unless I find the 110% of commitment and energy to take it on.

I, for one, am very comfortable in the knowledge that Dale is at the wheel - nearly 10 years of continual service prove that C&F has never hit an iceberg. I will take his direction without question every time.

Mind you, I have seen some very funny comedy routines where an actor pretends to arm-wrestle with himself. (I suspect that somewhere in there is the key to understanding the role of high spirits in a healthy community - but it is not for me to judge).

There you go.

AH, my little eye-rolling round-headed green boy. How I needed you today.

I just right clicked on the little red X, and then clicked “show picture”, and now it’s there all the time.

Interesting. You realize that this would prevent Dale from using it.

Actually, that has been happening to me quite a bit… but it is a come and go thing. I thought that maybe it happened when I was not logged in, but didn’t really test the theory and won’t now either!

EDIT: Okay, I lied, the eye-roller still ain’t workin. Didn’t check any of the other images I had been having trouble with.
