Hi Guys,
I just started taking tin whistle lessons (in NY). My motivation was a beautiful piece I heard once called The Lonesome Boatman, would anyone know where I could get the sheet music.

JC’s has it in ABC but I am having trouble with both the main and mirror sites. ![]()
Here are the links anyway:
Main:
http://trillian.mit.edu/~jc/music/abc/FindTune.html
Mirror:
http://jc.tzo.net:1742/~jc/music/abc/findtune.html
Once you can get the ABC you can convert it to dots here:
There are two versions of it in The Low Whistle Book, neither of which sound like the Finbar Furey version CD I have. Not exactly, anyway. I’m just going to learn by ear from Finbar’s CD.
I’m also still having JC’s ABC troubles.
But I found this - http://tunedb.woodenflute.com/tunedb/tune_details_results.html?tune_id=9440&tune_name=The%20Lonesome%20Boatman
Can that help? Looks like a reel written by Finbar Furey.
It’s not on thesession.org either…
Welcome to the board.
Please post often.
Thanks so much for the help. I’ve saved the info to use when I have a touch more experience. Actually I have a lesson tonight.
