Native American Flute

The C&F-hosted NAF forum is still operating. It’s an intimate but very friendly community. Just a reminder for those of you who are interested. Go over and say “hi.”

Dale

Wow, I didn’t know such a place existed. Cool. :sunglasses:

Cool place, Dale. Thanks!

Thanks Dale!

Since I’m on C&F board after starting of the NAF-Forum and I didn’t quite make it through all the posts in C&F  this was new for me  .
It seems the interest of C&F members beeing rather small for the NAF forum, regrettably :frowning: . I saw also the discussion if the NAF forum if it should remain separate or beeing integrated to the C&F forums. I have understood that there are good arguments for both possibilities, but at least I missed a link on the main website to the NFA forum  . Did I overlook it? :really:

Silvano

I saw (and heard) a Chilean lady by the name of Vivianna Guzmán play a NAF a few months ago. It was beautiful. It haunted my soul.

Well, there are over 100 members there, including a couple of dozen who are regular posters. I think the consensus was to keep it apart.

Dale

As I said I understand that there are good reasons for it. I just felt that there should at least be a link in the main webside, which I missed. Anyway, thanks again for remembering the topic.

Silvano

I’m going to the Wiltshire Powwow in July, so I’ll be hearing a few NA Flutes and whistles. That looks like a lovely forum, but I have my hands full (so to speak) with pennywhistle.

I should stop mucking about here and practice more.

Yes, Silvano, it would be nice to have at least a link to the Chiff NAF forum somewhere on the main website or forums page, since playing NAF is very similar to pennywhistle, and has been a crossover for many who play one or the other.

Many people haven’t discovered one or the other just because neither is mainstream music, and any help we can get for both ITM and NAM is good, even though they may be different from each other.

I never thought about there being NA Powwows in Britain.
Don’t see why not, though…

They have 'em in Oklahoma too.

That seems less surprising, since that’s where they’re native TO…

I’m glad to find this. I just got my first NAF today. A High Spirits Sparrowhawk walnut A. I picked it up downtown (Rapid City), and couldn’t put it down.
