Mystry whistle

Dear WhOA members,
I recently found an interesting whistle at the music swap a few weeks ago. Given it was available for $5.00 I couldn’t resist. Its all wooden (boxwood I assume), 11 13/16” long, straight bore, wooden fipple plug, has 8 holes and one on the top backside and came with a wooden cleaning rod and yellow cardboard tube. It’s very unstable under breath control (probably because I’m new at this) and it plays in “C”. Does anyone have an idea as to what this truly is? Here’s what’s on the tube:
Choroi- Musikinstrument Telleby Verkstäder
Made in Sweden (diat) printed on the bottom cap. I think its safe to say it’s not Irish.

Well, it is a recorder, not a whistle. From the number of holes, I can tell you that. It is a soprano recorder.

Most likely German Fingering as well, if the bottom two of the front 8 holes are not double holes.

Now that part of the mystry is cleared (tnx Jessie) I now know its a recorder. The hole placement is all singular holes and the top two are very small compared to all the others: top = 3/32", 2nd. = 1/8", 3rd. 4th. and 5th. are 1/4". 6th. = 3/16", 7th.=1/4" and 8th=3/16". Thumb hole =1/8". Interestingly enough all the holes are plained flat to their ergonomically correct positions. so the left hand side is flat to the position and same for the right side. (I think that made sence) Many thanks for all the help.

Not necessarily

In Sweden they are used in the Waldorf schools instead of recorders. That´s pretty much all I know about them, I wouldn´t really call them recorders since they are pretty different.
