I made a short demo video of this miserable scrap of crap bamboo flute that I made. It’s awful, but I figured if anyone could share in my defeat, it would be the guys on this board.
I think you’re being a bit hard on yerself mate…The Flute’s not too bad..
Tuning’s a little bit suss…but I’ve heard worse..(like the couple of Bamboo Flutes that I made 
)…
I think the tone is nice and mellow too…
Even though you spent a fair bit of time on the Flute…I bet you enjoyed yourself !!

I think it’s actually got a really nice sound. If you could get the tuning worked out a bit more, you’d have a pretty darn good flute.
Just thought I might add here that I had more success in the making of Bamboo Flutes when I went to other keys rather than D ..
Ones that I made in F and G are quite nice…I was able to get a piece of Bamboo that was still long enough after cutting off the nodes at each end…this left me with a hollow tube.
The species is B.Tuldoides and is sometimes called Chinese Punt-Pole Bamboo…
