"Music minus one" for Terpsichore - La Bourrée No. 32 by Michael Praetorius (1612)

Another Master score + “Music minus one” recorder website I put together for Terpsichore - La Bourrée No. 32 by Michael Praetorius (1612):

While arranged for SATB recorders, the soprano part works well on a high D whistle.

This was all done completely in ABC using my free abcjs-eskin Website Builder:

Thanks for posting, this, Michael. I’m 1.5 years into learning the (alto) recorder (late starter!), and tend to keep my whistle repertoire around trad music and early music on recorder, but it might be interesting to cross over now and then.

Is there a way to print this score without the TOC header?

Click the “Play in ABC Transcription Tools” button, then click “Export Audio, Image, or PDF”, then “Export Tune as PDF File” to get a PDF you can print.

I’m looking to add print-specific styling to the tool today. When done, I’ll retrofit the websites previously created with the tool so it will be possible to print scores directly from the website.

Assuming all goes well with the change, I’ll let you know when it’s available.

It looks like the new print CSS system isn’t going to do the job for long arrangements like this.

It’ll work great for simple multipart Irish tunes that fit on one page but unfortunately not multi-page orchestral scores.

My previous recommendation of opening the arrangement in the ABC Transcription Tools by clicking the button at the upper left of the notation and then generating a PDF from there is what I suggest you do. The PDF exporter in the ABC Transcription Tools knows specifically how to reflow the staves to their own pages when necessary.

Yes, that worked, except that it took 3 pages to print, with the last page just having the last 5 bars on it. If there’s a workaround for that let me know. Otherwise, just one more page to print.

Thanks!

Here you go. Just changed the:

%%staffwidth 800

to

%%staffwidth 900

I’ve updated the websites so you can print the long scores right from the website and I’ve updated the %%staffwidth on the Terpsichore ABC so that it will print on two pages right from the website.

You’ll want to do a hard refresh of the page to make sure you have the latest version, here’s how to do that on the most popular browsers:
