Another shining example of American media out of control…is there nothing that can prevent this BS from happening without treading on ‘freedom of speach’ issues?
While the song is disgusting and without any taste, and demonstrates unfathomably bigoted selfishness they have the right to say it. We don’t have an obligation to listen to it.

Are there getting to be more people doing increasingly worse things like this, or is it just that the media is bringing it to our attention more now? Seems like an increase of “morons” to me, though I think in some cases the term “moron” doesn’t fully describe it.
As for the freedom of speech thing. The government stepping in a doing something to stop certain things might be considered treading on freedom of speech. But the people themselves can choose to reject it and make it clear that certain things are unacceptable/inappropriate (if enough people care to make an issue of it) and that would not typically be an infringement, for the Constitution is mainly talking about government infringement, not individual businesses or people standing up and saying “enough”. People are free to say a lot of things… but they also risk having to take the consequense of what they say as well. No, we don’t have to listen to them. The radio station doesn’t have to keep someone who goes too far. Someone is free to walk into a room and start insulting people, but they better be ready to leave the room fast when the room of people decide to make use of their freedom to not be forced to listen to them.
Course, when not enough people care to take a stand and instead allow the standards of what is acceptable to continually be lowered to the lowest common denominator then you are going to run into an increasing amount of destructive/moronic behavoir. In some cases, just ignoring the problem doesn’t help… it instead sends a message of “well, no one reacted negatively to that, so it must of been okay (or can get away with it) so let’s try something more.”
