Nano, do you use a stove or do you eat your bananas raw?
Cran, haven’t you heard of Bananas Foster? ![]()
And chimps are definitely meat-eaters into the bargain. Ever watched 'em hunt monkeys? Chilling.
Has it occured to anyone the mongoose may be the child-molesting bad guy, who’s after the cobra’s eggs ?
This whole story sounds like Kipling writing New Labour propaganda ! ![]()
Do they cook their monkeys?
What is Bananas Foster?
No. No fire skills as yet. Give 'em time, if the planet survives.
What is Bananas Foster?
A dessert: bananas sliced in slabs legthwise, sautéed in butter with brown sugar and flambéed with banana liqueur, if I recall correctly.
And then there’s banana cream pie…
Personally, I prefer my bananas uncooked. ![]()

Occured to me, Zub.
If the “bad guy” wants to reveal his true colors, let him and see what happens. Otherwise there’s little point in speculation.
Just some good ol blue meat and taters!MMMMMMMMMMGOOD!!
The perfect thing to follow that down the gullet with is “smurf Droppings” a delectible frozen treat mixed up in the back room by persons of questionable citizenship status at the 7-11 (or other convenience store), and a dash of vodka or perhaps blue carquewhatsit-something-or-other.. stired in for required octane.
About those snakes… you should see the look on the clerks face at the reptile world pet store when I walk in and ask for FEEDER SNAKES. “you mean feeder mice dont you…”
“No, I want some feeder snakes for my cat, he loves the tasty wee creatures.”
Speaking of which.. I once used a live watersnake for bait when I was fishing.. It didnt catch any fish, and the poor fella got “all tuckered out”. Cranberry rather reminds me of my friend who caught the snake and baited the hook for me.. Is that you Charley Person??
I have an acquaintance just like you; he practically makes a career of driving service personnel to distraction. Is that you, James McPherson??
No, it’s me, Elma Peters.
The mongoose revealed his identity shortly after returning to the board. He was well enough known to some of the old-timers around here.
Thank you, Wombat. Believe it or not, I don’t read every post. ![]()
“Under ideal circumstances chimpanzees may live 50 years.” --Columbia Encyclopedia, 6th ed. 2003
Life expectancy for a human living in the United States of America is 77.2 years. (source, Centers for Disease Control)
The chimps later years are free from all the diseases our later years typically are, Walden. That being my point, not the total number of years.
Hey Zub,
Regarding your whistle pic. I love the logo on the mouthpiece. That looks like a finely crafted instrument. What’s the make?

A quick steam or saute will do the vegies just right. I remember collecting fiddleheads with an old yankee in Massachusetts many years ago. They tasted delicious just raw. We carried them back and he cooked them into an unpalatable mush…he thought they were delicious.
They were bitter and disgusting. Anybody like fiddleheads?
One great thing to collect is mushrooms, but you had better have a trio of old Polish ladies with you to do the ID’s. There is nothing like a sauted chanterelle only minutes from the ground.
I have my secret mushroom rooms in the forest. I mostly pick morels (Spring) and Bear Heads (fall).

Bear Head (Hericium abietis)
These giants grow on logs and taste as good as morels, the safest of all mushrooms for beginners.
