moist fingers

Hi,
is there somebody who uses a specific cream, ointment, lotion just before playing? I noticed that sealing the holes is sometime better with moist fingertips.

Any idea?

I can’t believe that I know the answer to this when I didn’t know the answer to moist lips. First, stay hydrated (ok, that was Denny.) Second, keep your whole body moisturized. We’re not getting any younger. The best moisturizer that I ever ran across that was cheap is a black people’s hair care product. It’s whipped castor oil. Black people actually use this for skin care too, especially for babies. While you’re still wet and in the shower, use moisturizer. Once your body dries, it’s too late. I have no clue what to do if you’re already dry.

If regular hair conditioning products aren’t strong enough to keep your hair looking good, this whipped castor oil product is the ticket.

Whipped castor oil? Egads, Mutey, it reminds me of my early childhood. In the old barbarous days, they made kids take castor oil for all sorts of ailments. I fought valiantly, but i still got dosed. I have a lifetime dislike of the stuff in any form. :sniffle:

aaar, when we woz nippers we washed our hair with soap. There woz no conditioner and shampoo was for girls. Moisturiser??

I suggest covering your entire body, foot to toe, with Guiness immediately upon entering the session bar. If you play like me, the patrons will do it for you anyway.

Soap? Wash!?! Such behavior could be detrimental to good health!

As far as closing the holes on a flute goes, don’t worry, for in time the fingers tend to get the job done, without any additives.
