Addendum:
A lot of this discussion was on the previous page, so I will amend my remarks, Mr. Chairman.
You bought a pre-amp to solder together. To go with a mic designed to record lectures on a minidisc, rather than a tiny Radio Shack mic that clips on to your whistle. In order to be able to play through your home stereo, which isn’t really designed to do this. This in place of simply buying a Pignose or a small guitar/voice amp, which is. And because you were unwilling to follow the directions on your minidisc, so it COULD be used as a preamp. So you can be heard over your wife’s drum kit, which is designed to play with a jazz group or rock band, not a pennywhistle. Rather than having your wife play a bodhran (Irish drum) which plays at a volume suitable for whistles.
Wow. What an adventure!
Just make sure you actually know how to solder, and use the right kind of solder, soldier! Enjoy the music!
