When it comes to Low whistles, do you prefer a mezzo or Alto. I guess my question really is what is the real difference between the two?
Hehe, yes I have no idea either. I generally refer to whistles by their key, so I would specify a Low G as opposed to a G, or a low D as opposed to a D.
My favourite is a low G, still just small enough I can use normal fingering, but nice and low so it’s not squeaky and piercing. If I go to an F I need to alter my fingering to pipers grip.
