I’ve been without electricity since last Friday due to the heavy snowfall we got.
I now have electricity, water, heat and can live in all my house, not just the room with the fireplace!!! The best Christmas present I’ll get this year, electricity!!!
I’m certainly having a Merry Christmas and I wish the same to you all!!!

well, after ten days of hard hard work, our new house in Whitley Bay is beginning to look and feel like home. last night I sat in an armchair by the fire in a cozy little room, hung with red & gold curtains, surrounded by books, with quiet classical music on the radio and a nice Argentine red at my elbow (the Bonarda grape - new to me,and full of plum and blackberry flavours).
It’s Christmas day now, cold and clear (last night there were stars in the sky and a bright quarter moon). About 2 degrees, I guess (just been for a smoke in the porch at the front door), and the street is silent, absolutely silent. the air has the clean smell of snow and sea.
I wish you & yours everything good for the coming year - health, happiness, and all your heart aches for. may the small gods who bring contentment to our weary hearts come to you on this day, and guard you and watch over you in the year to come.

Merry Christmas, Chiffers. I’m still trying to recover from last night’s family dinner and gift exchange with three grandkids shouting and running through the house. The house is a mess. It is raining outside, and we are expecting snow flurries this afternoon. I’m taking the fiddle down from its peg to play “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”.
Whatever ya want ta call it…do enjoy!
