I meant to have said… how much does an M&E RR without keys weigh… the one in the other thread I believe was with 8 keys. I had one if the early M&E’s, sounded great but I always felt like I was lifting an I beam. If you got attacked in an alley though this would be the Flute you’d want to defend yourself
My M&E RR is heavier than my Burns and probably heavier than any wooden flute, but it’s not crazy heavy. it’s manageable. I’ve played sessions with the M&E, 2+ hours, and had no problems.
The average human arm weighs about 7 pounds, and you are holding up two of them when you play the flute. So I don’t think that a couple of ounces one way or the other on the flute should make much difference.
What is that beside the good captain’s mic stand? A rolled up fingering chart? A bandsman’s clip on music stand? A souvenir silk handkerchief embroidered with La Marseillaise, Hearts of Oak, and The Derriere exploding from a massive tube of cork grease?
You guys are killing me!
Terry, that’s a great picture, I’ve copied it and I’m going to frame it and put it above my music stand. That’s the worst haircut I’ve seen in years.
