im looking at selling my 1990 lynch chanter to purchase one of his chanters that was made just a few years ago. the 1990 chanter has nice volume and a sweet sound. im not 100% sure i need to sell this chanter. i really like it but i cant afford to buy a new one without selling this one.
if anyone is interested in the 1990 chanter send me a PM or email.
Sounds like a quick way to start an excellent practice set. I have a 1/2 set of the same vintage. It sounds great. If it’s in good shape with a good reed, someone can get started without a long wait. (I have no idea who the seller is…just my opinion)

I would agree, and in fact I’m wondering if our piping club should not consider buying / making / patching together a practice set for use as a loaner . . . to help current members in distress, or to encourage new or potential pipers.

Go for it! You’ll never regret it.
I’ve whiped together practice sets for some people here in St. Louis cheaply and they’re still playin away.
If you have an opportunity to pick up a decent chanter go for it. Bags and bellows’ are the easy part. Chris Dixon or David Daye will turn out fine bellows and bags for very reasonable prices.
It’s good for the heart when you see someone who you helped get an instrument and they’re still at it years later!
Tommy
