Hello,
So as the title suggests I’m just wondering if anyone out there has a baritone regulator they would be interested in parting with or even a pair, Second hand preferably. I’ve seen them come up before so I thought I’d ask.
I’m not really ready for regs, i just though if i get one i can start doing a few exercises with it and get use to the positions etc. I’d even consider a pakistani made reg if it was cheap enough and actually worked.
Thanks and Happy New Year
Hi Ash , hope you’re well. There’s a little bit more to it than just getting your regs. You have to make sure that the tenon sizes are correct for your stock , other wise you will have to rebore the holes in your stock which can be a really difficult thing to do or you overbind the regs. I was lucky I had a pipemaker friend come up with an ingenious way of doing it , saved me buying a new stock as the tenon reg size in the stock was considerably smaller than the tenon size on the regs but this is a situation you get when you get regs from a different maker to the drones/stock.
I have Galloway tenor and baritone regs with Preshaw drones for sale. I won’t split them because of the reason I mentioned above.I wouldn’t bother buying Pakistani regs but just save your money and get some proper regs that will last you , there’s no point throwing good money after bad.Hope this gives you an insight.
Mei
Hay Mei,
All is well thank, and you?
I’m Looking forward to getting tones of piping done this year and I plan to get across to the Wales Tionol as well as a few other.
Cheers for the tips. I remember you said at Halsway that you had some bits up for sale. Would you be able to send me a some more info. I’ve had a look at Preshaw and Galloway. Is there bag and Bellows? Did you get them from new, stuff like that.
Are you getting down hear for the SDUP Tionol in March?
All the best
Ashley
