Seems that cool wolf photo that was posted here a while back was staged:

Too bad…it was such a nice shot.

Yeah, saw that a couple of weeks back someone had twigged that it was a trained wolf - as a wolf would naturally tend to go through the gate rather than leap it. The business went to committee and they pulled the plug on his prize. You can see their point. If it’s a tame/trained wolf it’s not wildlife, which is the whole focus of the competition.
hehehehh ‘loan wolf’
I can’t take credit for that. I stole it from the article.
It is a good phrase, though, isn’t it? ![]()

I’m more convinced by the fact that the stunt-wolf ringer was recognised. Wolves are complex enough creatures to make generalising statements like “wolves always…” risky. I can think of a few reasons for a wolf to jump a fence he could wriggle through, but electric fencing is the most obvious. A hypothetical electric fence wire would be a) black, and b) on the outside of the gate, both of which would hide it from the flash, but not from the wolf.
Well, I’m glad to hear it! Yes, I am!
Now I can stop fretting about the poor creatures on the near side of the fence that the wolf was allegedly stalking!

Bunnies and duckies. Also kids and sweet little lambkins. ![]()
