Let's hear it for Susato!

I love my Susatos and probably play them more than all my other whistles (except perhaps my Burke). However, I’m really not keen on either of the D whistles and far prefer the Eb, C, B and Bb. I have others in different keys but those are my favorites and i’ll never willingly part with them. I see a Db is available so i’d better get that to celebrating my overcoming WHOA.

I love what he can do with a susato.

Somewhere I read that most Susatos are not being blown hard enough in the second octave, and that is why they have that sound. In other words, as I read it that most players back off before the whistle reaches its good sound. I don’t have a Susato now or I would try that. Has anyone found that they can blow :boggle: past the reputation the second octave has?

I read that too. Yes, if anyone has a Susato would you please be so kind as to shed some light on the subjet?

I have a Susato and I’ve been playing it for maybe 9 months or so. I’ve found it’s not a matter of blowing harder, but more of where you direct the air. I found I can blow even software in the higher register and get a nice tone if I just direct my air a little bit differently (higher I think…hard to explain).

I understand what your saying. Thx a bunch.
