Just wanted to put in a word for Jon C. and his excellent work.
I have had the privilege of owning one of his excellent flutes and a recent cosmetic repair to
my present instrument returned it to me better than new.
Thanks, Jon. Hope you are swamped with work!
Agreed! Hear, hear! and here there! Jon’s quite the craftsman, no doubt about it-wish I stll had the first one I let go of his! And the second for that matter-but sometimes we change and want to try other flutes, just wish I had an endless supply of cash to buy, try and keep them all!
Keep on keeping on, Jon! And oo-rah!
Be well, Barry
PS Jon, you still making and playing flutes? Or has your head (and ear) been turned by the siren call of the evil concertina? ![]()
Hehe… concertina.
Dang those things have a lotsa bits in them.

I was up to visit about a week ago.
He’s still making flutes.
I’m bugging him to make me another myself.
Does anyone have Jon’s phone number…I’ve misplaced it. He did some wonderful flute repair for me last year, and I’ve got something else to ask him.
Thanks friends…and Happy Thanksgiving!
Todd
i agree! i have a flute of jon’s (a pratten boosey copy), and it’s my favorite flute i have ever played. anywhere i take it, people comment on the sound of the flute, and even in broad sunlight dont notice that it is plastic (it has fake grain).
Hi guys,
Still here, you are too kind.
I am making a occasional flute here and there, but I still have a pile of antiques to bring back to life, and a concertina or two…
Cheers,
Jon
Glad to see you are still fixing up those antique flutes, Jon. And there is no shame in fixing up the occasional concertina as long is it isn’t an accordion…then its time to get worried.
Hope all is well in LA.
