I wanted to let you all know that I’m running an Irish music, song and dance cruise to the Eastern Caribbean next February 2nd - February 13th, 2013 on board the incredible Norwegian Epic cruise ship (Voted Cruise Ship of the Year in 2011) from Miami with ports of call St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Nassau in the Bahamas.
I have over 50 entertainers joining me including numerous All-Ireland Champions, British Champions and Canadian Champions. Some of the performer highlights include; Cherish the Ladies, The Black Family featuring Mary Black, Frances Black, Shay and Michael. Maura O’Connell, Liz Carroll, Tommy Sands, Phil Cunningham, Eddi Reader, Gabriel Donohue, traditional musicians John Nolan, Ivan Goff, Dylan Foley, Dan Gurney, Pride of Moyvane Ceili Band and many more!
I will be hosting some workshops on the whistle and there will be daily jam sessions for all levels of players.
Last year was my first cruise and we had 600 Celtic music fans from around the world joining in the fun with nightly singsongs, dancing, concerts, workshops and sessions. I hope you do too!
I definitely recommend this. I haven’t been on the cruise one, but I have been on another tour with her, and it was an experience of a lifetime. I have some friends who went on the cruise, and they said it was amazing.
Can’t make this cruise, but I’d like to put in a good word for Norwegian. My wife and I have sailed with several different cruise lines, and like Norwegian the best.
This cruise has a fantastic lineup of entertainers and you are guaranteed a good time on any tour or cruise that Joanie runs. If you can get the money together, you will never regret going. The prices are actually very reasonable too, compared to other Festival cruises I have seen.
I am going this year and cannot wait for February. The Irish Caribbean will be wherever this ship sails.
one ugly possibility would be if your wife decides to take a Norwegian Cruise (Joanie’s) while you’re away at music workshop and you both meet up say, during cocktail hour in that case, might I suggest you encourage your wife to play pennywhistle ITM
OTOH, she may have a “dream scheme” on hold… just waitin’ for an opportunity so go ahead, make my day!
