I am going to be selling my Jeffries G/D concertina. It is marked “C. Jeffries / Maker” on each frame and on one end. It isn’t quite
like the one just sold on Ebay for $6,300 + shipping. Mine is the traditional 30 button layout, which I consider preferable to 39 buttons.
I believe everything about the instrument is original. The bellows are solid, with no patches or repairs. The tuning is good and it plays well. The condition is good overall. It shows that it has been played over the years. Pads and springs are well played in.
It isn’t easy for me to sell this instrument. Nobody who plays a concertina would find it easy to sell a Jeffries. But we are building a house in Ireland and I’m selling instruments that I don’t play a whole lot, to raise money for the house. I am keeping my C/G. The G/D comes in a solid leatherette covered wooden case with brass corners.
