ITM player from Brazil out of the lurking mode.

Hullo there

I ask your permission to become a visible member of the forum.
I’ve been lazy to create my forum profile for some time, but after encouragement by Aanvil, I decided to do so.

I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I have been a professional piano and keyboard player for years, and more recently I’ve been seriously delving into trad music as a flute, whistle and melodica player. I have a Chieftain NR non-tunable Low D, a Susato Hi D and a Jerry-Tweaked Sweetone Hi D whistles. But I’ve opted to do this presentation in the flute forum for my main instruments have been Tipple-modelled-homemade PVC flutes. I’m in the process of saving funds to invest in a delrin/polymer/dynonwood flute in the near future.

I’m part of a session group here in Rio. We occasionally meet in a so-called “The Irish Pub” at Ipanema beach. There’s a video from a session in last January at http://cristie.multiply.com/video/item/5 . Nevermind the eventual mistakes. We were still putting pieces together at that time.

Now that I’m no longer anynomous, I hope I can make my contribution to relevant (or not  ) discussions.

Cheers
Bruno

Seja bem-vindo!

Edited to correct a shameful Portuguese mistake (after 5 years in Japan had to save some memory space in my Hard Disk for kanji instead of my native language. Gosh! Foreigners know more than me  )

Welcome Bruno!

Doc

Thanks for all your responses. And Doc, I must confess. I’m one responsible for overloading your website with drool.

Bruno Bem-vindo!

Eu não vi sua mensagem.

Sua música foi jogada bem!

Welcome aboard.

Im pretty new here myself.

Everyone here is very nice… mostly.

Welcome aboard! Looking forward to sharing many non-relevant threads with you.

Yes, I enjoyed the video too. You all seemed to be having a grand time.

Olá, Bruno! Bem-vindo!
Glad to hear that there’s a growing Irish music scene in Brazil.

You wouldn’t by chance happen to be related to Caetano Veloso’s sideman Pedro Sá, would you?

I appreciate the comments on the video. It was really quite fun. The guy playing harmonica, Rodrigo Eberienos, is fantastic. He has done some gigs and stuff with master player Brendan Power.

Romulo - Dá-lhe Brasil!

Aanvil - Thanks for the little push. Kind of you to use Portuguese. It is interesting to imagine I’ve been invisivly visiting this forum for about a year. And, like me, there are certainly dozens of other ghosts around.

Pitchfork - no I’m not related to Pedro Sa. Yes, there is a little, but growing scene of Celtic (Irish and Scottish) things happening here. They even started to film a new soap opera about the Irish immigrants in Brazil, so the musicians and the step-dancing people are likely to feature in that.

When the spare time allows you, at http://www.myspace.com/brunosa there are some Off-Topic videos of my hard rocker side of life as a “virtuoso keyboard player”. :stuck_out_tongue: Hope you appreciate it aswell.
