Last week I finally acquired the one Low D I’ve been wanting more than any other, an MK. Already having an MK low f, I had high expectations, and they were not let down. This will be the first whistle on my website to earn six holes, it is definitely now my main low whistle. However, I just received yesterday a low C,D,Eb set of Reviol whistles (one head, three interchangeable bodies) and these are some killer whistles, especially the Eb. I also received at the very same time yesterday a low D Sterling Silver Copeland, which as I’m sure you can guess is quite the whistle! now I don’t know what to play!
Add to the fact that I still have the flu, and have to stop playing every few notes to cough, and I am one frustrated whistler! ![]()
Not in my wildest imagination would Christmas ever be that outrageous, so many top flight low whistles at once. You are one fortunate whistler.
I feel your pain. I played, or tried to play flute for a ceremony last evening (wheeze, wheeze, cough, cough). After about 20 minutes I gave up and opted for playing a CD. Hope you feel better soon.

Hehe, you’re “The King Of The Low Whistles”!! You almost have them all ![]()
Hope you get better soon, you have some serious playing to do!
I look forward to the reviews as well.
As my first post here, I’ll just say that: medit8, your post makes me feel much better about my recent purchase, which just arrived today – my Alba q1 vibe low D.
And… feeling better about the fact that I’m already pondering what my next whistle purchase should be. Fickle, I’m fickle. (Not that I’m unhappy with the Alba! It’s great… it’s just that now I need a better high whistle too.)
Kevin…
Congrats on the MK D! And I agree that Misha’s whistles are hovering around the “six hole” mark. (I still love and play the MK F I bought from you. A black beauty, that plays like a dream…)
It’s hard for me to commiserate with you, vis a vis the flu…what with the heap of awesome whistles at your beck and call!
Along with my MK D, one of my fave Ds is the Copeland Low D in brass. Do let us know how the Sterling Silver handles and sounds! wow
Ok…Get well! And keep the lucid whistle appraisals coming.
