Hey,
I have just bought a prctice set of pipes and was wondering if there is anyone in the Isle of Man, UK who would be willing to take on a pupil?? If anyone knows of anyone let me know. Ta. SAM

I once hitched a hair-raising ride from Dingle to Shannon with a young fellow from the Isle of Man…one of the craziest buggers I’ve ever met. He said he had bought the fine old automobile we were driving in for the princely sum of 50 pounds…and from the look and sound of it, I believed him.
Anyway…I remember he said something about how he had recently taken up uilleann pipes and had gotten a practice set and some lessons from some guy in Douglas…I think the guy’s name was Colin Jerry or something. He also said this guy was making his pipe bags outta kevlar…at least I think he said kevlar…anyway, sounded kinda original.
I seem to remember seeing Colin Jerry’s name and address on the maker’s list on the old UPIL page but I don’t know if that’s still up.
Good luck!

OT - I noticed on my last trip to Dublin in April that there is a ferry from Dublin to the Isle of Man. Wild!
Hi Samtheman. If you can get yourself to Manchester, I can spend some time with you and get you started at least.
I think I know a contact for you on the IOM…I sent you a private message about the person, so log in and check your message folder [top of this page]
