Next on the hit parade, the new CoreMIDI-enabled 2.0 version of AirPipes, my Uilleann/Highland bagpipes control surface for iPad, currently in review with Apple.
Switching from DSMIDI-WiFi to CoreMIDI means that the app can be used with any of the many CoreMIDI interfaces now available for the iPad. When I first wrote the app, CoreMIDI didn’t exist in iOS.
The app is currently in review with Apple, and will be available in early November as a free update to anyone who previously purchased the app.
I’m so excited I can hardly breathe. Just figured out that my new CoreMIDI enabled iPad music controller apps like AirPipes can all control software synthesizers running in the background on the iPad. For example I’m using AirPipes to play patches in IK Multimedia SampleTank and it just works. No need for external hardware. Awesome!
